July 18 , 2008 - WSR wraps up Summer Nationals Prepares to hit the road.

(Fairbury, Illinois) July 18 , 2008 -The 2008 UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals have finally come to an end. After countless days on the road and many hours working on the cars, you could say it somewhat paid off. Wes Steidinger Racing started all 20 shows that the 'Hell Tour' brought to life. They picked up one win which came on the 2nd night of racing action at Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell Indiana. The team also racked up 8 top 5's, 8 top 10's, 2 top 15's and a top 20.
The upcoming weekend plans will be as follows. Friday night July 18th, the J1 camp will travel to Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be in town for a $10,000 to win show. Saturday they will make their way south for the $6,000 to win UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals make-up at Clarksville Stormpay.com Speedway, in Clarksville, Tn. The team also plans on hitting the 1st Annual 'Midwest Monster Tour' on July 22-27. More details will be posted soon.

June 14 , 2008 - Steidinger racks up first win on 2008 Summer Nationals Tour.

(Boswell, Indiana) June 14 , 2008 - The first weekend of the 2008 UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals kicked off this weekend at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway. After qualifying 2nd in his group with a 15.489 he would go on to pick up the heat race win ahead of Brain Shirley, Terry English, Kevin Weaver, and Jason Riggs. Steidinger drew a four which placed him on the outside of row 2. Unfortunately bad luck struck as the J1 was forced pit side with a blown motor. Saturday night, was an entire different story, after spending all day Friday replacing the engine, the team was ready to tackle anything that came their way. Everything would get underway with qualifying, Wes once again got second in his group with a time of 14.481. This placed him on the outside pole for the first heat race of the evening. There was no messing around as he took off to an early lead and went on to pick up the win over Jordan Bland, Ryan Dauber, Jason Feger and Kevin Claycomb. Steidinger would see himself sitting the pole for the feature event next to Billy Moyer. As the green flag was flying in the air, Wes took an early lead, and stayed there for the 40 lap event. The "Fairbury Flyer' picked up his biggest paying career win, and first win at Kamp Motor Speedway ahead of Mike Mataragas, Brian Birkhofer, Billy Moyer, and Dennis Erb Jr.

June 11 , 2008 - Steidinger notches 5 th win; prepares for UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals.

(Fairbury, Illinois) June 11 , 2008 - This past weekend saw the J1 team racing only one night of two. Night one slated for Farmer City Raceway was once again washed out by Mother Nature. Night two took the Fairbury native to his home track of Fairbury American Legion Speedway where he would set fast time, place second in the heat race, and pick up his 5 th win of 2008 in the A- Main. Wes qualified fast out of 23 cars with a time of 13.297. Wes started 4 th in the ‘Lock 8’ heat race, where he placed 2 nd behind Eric Smith. With a 2 nd place starting position in the A-main he managed to show his fans what they like to see, he picked up his 5 th feature win of 2008, followed by Frank Shickel Jr., Joe Harlan, Scott Bull and Eric Smith.
This weekend Steidinger and Crew will kick off the grueling month they have all been waiting for. The 2008 UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals kicks off this Thursday Night, June 12 th, at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky. May 29 , 2008 - Steidinger adds another win, prepares for big weekend of racing.

(Fairbury, Illinois) May 29, 2008 - With four nights of racing action on the schedule this past weekend, the J1 team only got 2 nights under their belt. Night one on tap was that of Farmer City Raceway where mother nature decided she would make a lake into the racetrack. Night Two took the 'Fairbury Flyer' to his home track of Fairbury American Legion Speedway. As night fell on the track Wes once again took the fast time of 12.715. He started on the pole of the lock 8 heat race, where he went on to take the win over Daren Friedman, Eric Smith, Scott Bull and Ryan Unzicker. This set Wes up for the pole starting position where he took off and never looked back. He took the checkers over Daren Friedman, Eric Smith, Ryan Dauber and Scott Bull. Sunday the team had the 'Fed Ex 50' on tap, when in route they found out the race was also a wash, Wes decided he would head to Vermilion County Speedway where he picked up a Modified ride, he wheeled the Dean Custom Builders 128 Racecar. Wes picked up a B-Main win and decided to start tail in the A-Main where he pulled off mid-race due to mechanical issues. Monday's scheduled race at Macon Speedway was rained out as well.
This weekend Steidinger and Crew will be out on the road as they head to Paducah International Raceway, I-55 Raceway, and Macon Speedway. May 21 , 2008 - Fairbury Flyer picks up win on NASCAR Night, and lowers the track record.

(Fairbury, Illinois) May 21, 2008 - Fans of Wes Steidinger once again got to see the ‘Fairbury Flyer’ put on a clinic at Fairbury American Legion Speedway on Tuesday night for their edition of NASCAR Night. With 25 UMP Late Models on hand, Steidinger not only set fast time, but smashed the track record previously held by Shannon Babb. The new track record is 12.436. After starting on the poll of the lock 8 heat race, Wes picked up the win over, Derek Chandler, Kevin Weaver, Joe Harlan, and Daren Friedman. This set Wes up to start on the pole of the A-Main, and he took off and never looked back to take the 30 lap feature win, over, Derek Chandler, Kevin Weaver, Joe Harlan, and Daren Friedman.

(Fairbury, Illinois) May 16, 2008 - When most people think of Wes Steidinger, they recall the J1, Rayburn Racecar. This weekend, Wes will unveil what many race fans have been talking about for the last month or so. He will debut a brand new racecar, a Victory Circle Mach 1 by Moyer racecar that is. Wes and Team Steidinger will first shake down their new chassis at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois for a regular UMP Racing Event, for more information go to www.farmercityraceway.net. Friday night they traveled to Farmer City Raceway for a regular night of UMP racing action. Wes set fast time at 12.456. Wes started third in his heat race, where he picked up 2nd place behind Jason Feger. With a 5th place starting spot in the A-Main event he powered to 2nd place once again, finishing behind Steve Sheppard Jr. Wes is currently leading points at Farmer City Raceway. May 5 , 2008 - Wes Captures top 10 in Lucas Oil Events at KLMS

(Fairbury, Illinois) This past weekend saw Steidinger and crew head south. South to Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky for the annual '99' event sanctioned by Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series. A two day show was cut short my one day as mother nature took the checkered flag. Saturday night saw a full show of racing action with late model qualifying, heat races, consolation races, and the A-Main event. Wes finished 6th in the 2nd heat race behind Darren Miller, Kevin Cole, Terry Casey and Don O'Neal they took only the top 4. This gave him a place in the first consolation event. Wes picked up the win over Jeff Walston, John Mason, Jason Feger and Todd Hall placing him in the A-Main. With a starting position near the rear of the pack in the A- Main event, Wes took his J1 machine to finish in 8th place behind Brady Smith, Billy Drake, Darren Miller, Steve Casebolt, Earl Pearson Jr., Terry English and Matt Miller.
Friday May 9th & 10th local fans will once again be able to see Wes pilot the J1. The 9th Wes and crew will be heading to Farmer City Raceway for a regular UMP racing event. April 28, 2008 - Steidinger Picks Up Win Number 2 at FALS

(Fairbury, Illinois) Once again on a two night racing weekend, only one night was started and completed. WSR chose not to make the trip to Farmer City Raceway Friday Night as mother nature showed everyone who would take the checkered flag. Saturday Night the team decided to stay close to home, real close to home. They made the short trip to Fairbury American Legion Speedway where Wes picked up a qualifying time of 13.435 which was 2nd fastest. This put him in the 2nd heat where he picked up the win over Rusty Schlenk, Scott Bull, Frank Shickel Jr. and Joe Harlan. Heat two locked in the top 8 which put the J1 machine on the pole of the A-Main. Wes wheeled to his 2nd victory of 2008 ahead of Rusty Schlenk, Frank Shickel Jr, Scott Bull and Daren Friedman.

April 21, 2008 - WSR scores two top 5's this weekend.
|

(Fairbury, Illinois) While planning on racing three nights this past weekend, WSR really only got two nights under their hat. Wes kicked everything off Friday night at Farmer City Raceway where he made it through qualifying events, mother nature then decided to take over. Saturday brought the J1 team to Peoria, Illinois for the Don Bohlander 100. After going pit side for some minor repairs, he was able to come back out and pick up a top five finish behind Dennis Erb, Tim Lance, Ryan Dauber and Steve Lance Jr. Sunday Wes traveled north to the Quad City Raceway for the WDRL vs. UMP Spring Clash. Wes finished 5th in the heat race which put him in the top 18 in passing points and also put him in the A-Main. After a caution plauged and curfew cut short 50 lap A-Main Wes accomplished a 3rd place finish behind Dennis Erb and Darren Miller.

April 11, 2008 - Wes Steidinger wins Farmer City Raceway and Tops Late Model Point Standings!
|
|
(Fairbury, Illinois) After only two weeks of racing at Farmer City Raceway, Fairbury, Illinois native Wes Steidinger leads the points. Wes picked up not only Fast Time, a heat race win, but the A-Main win Friday night at Farmer City Raceway. He qualified well in time trials with a time of 12.783 and later went on to win his heat race over BJ McCammon, Mike Petersak, Jason Feger and Steve Sheppard Jr. The A-Main saw Wes start on the pole, where the “Fairbury Flyer” picked up his first win of the 2008 season over Ryan Unzicker, Matt Taylor, BJ McCammon and Kyle Logue. After sweeping the night, Wes moved into First place in UMP Late Model Points at Farmer City Raceway.
Friday night was the only night WSR got to race as Mother Nature showed a ruling fist the rest of the weekend.
Wes and the WSR team has a jam-packed weekend coming up as they will head south on Friday night April 18th to Pontoon Beach, Illinois, home of Tri-City Speedway where they will race for $3,000 purse as the M.A.R.S / UMP DIRTCar Late Models invade the speedway. Saturday the team will travel back north as they race in the $4,000 to win unsanctioned, “Don Bohlander 100 ” at Peoria Speedway, in Peoria, Illinois. Team WSR will wrap things up on Sunday as they make way to Quad City Raceway for the $5,000 to win WDRL Late Model show.

April 7th, 2008 - Steidinger Scores Top 5 in 'Illini 100'

Farmer City, Illinois (4/5/08) -Wes Steidinger picked up his career best finish in the World of Outlaw Late Model Series with a top 5 finish on Saturday night, April 5th at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois.
Wes picked up the third and final transfer spot in his heat race after qualifying 17th with a time of 12.514, this led the “Fairbury Flyer” to the 17th starting position on the grid for the 100 lap ‘Illini 100’.

Fairbury, Illinois (3/31/08) - Late Model driver, Wes Steidinger, from Fairbury, Illinois is proud to announce the launch of a brand new website at www.wessteidingerracing.com.
Wes will continue his 7th year in a Dirt Late Model, as he will be piloting the #J1 CJ Rayburn Racecar, ARC Racing Engine Super Late Model in a wide variety of events. He will concentrate on surpassing his 2007 achievements. 2007 saw Wes rack up 21 feature wins, never missing an A- Main event as he stood atop the UMP National Points Standings before taking second place. Wes will be preparing for a packed weekend at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois as the World of Outlaw Late Model Series invade the ¼ mile track for the Inaugural ‘Illini 100’. Action gets underway on Thursday night, April 3rd, with practice from 4-9. Friday night will see qualifying action along with heat races and a $1000 to win dash from Douglas Pontiac-GMC-Dodge. March 22, 2008 - WSR kicks off 2008 Racing Season

Clarksville, TN –After struggling at Golden Isles Speedway in Late January Wes Steidinger and Team got things working in Tennessee. The Fairbury, Illinois racer piloted his J1 machine to a second place finish at this past weekend’s 4th Annual Tuckasee Toilet Bowl at Clarksville Stormpay.com Speedway in Clarksville, TN.
Steidinger's 13.954 lap was good enough for second quickest in his group which would eventually become the fourth and final heat race of the evening. Steidinger quickly took the lead and went on to win the heat race. After the re-draw, it set him up for the outside front row starting spot in Saturday nights A-Main. Steidinger picked up 2nd place followed by Erb, English and Chinn.
